Hiba Shahzada is an architect and artist based in Amman, Jordan. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Jordan and a Post Professional Master of Architecture Degree (MArch II) from the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University. She worked with Sahel Al Hiyari Architects in Jordan and Atelier Peter Zumthor and Partner in Switzerland. She also served as an external architecture thesis advisor at the University of Jordan, and was invited as an architecture critic for final juried shows at the German Jordanian University and the Applied Science University. In 2014, she was nominated as a finalist for the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative in Architecture.

 

Alongside architecture, Hiba continued to pursue her interest in the fine arts of painting and sculpture, and took advanced art courses in Cambridge, MA and in Rome, Italy. She participated in several local art and design exhibitions, and held the duo exhibition ‘Urban Canvas’ in Amman, December 2016.

 

Hiba has been working as an independent architect and artist since June 2015. Her passion for architecture and art, and her strong belief in their affiliation, has driven her to pursue new ways of expression in her work. She continues to explore this affiliation while working on current projects by using different tools, materials, and sources of inspiration.
